Elizabeth M. Tolman 

Elizabeth Dettling Moreno is in the spotlight for this month. She spent 24 years as a public school teacher in Texas. She was a widow for 2 years before becoming Mrs. Randy Tolman in November, 2021. She kept Moreno as her pen name to keep from confusing her readers.

She published her first book, Sancho the Silly Billy Goat, in 2016, followed by The Return of Sancho, the Not so Silly Billy Goat, and the third year, Tales from the Chicken Yard and Other Fowl Stories. Then she and her artists created coloring books to go with her stories. She also helped Holocaust survivor Helen Colin write her autobiography, My Dream of Freedom, from Holocaust to my Beloved America.

In 2023, the Tolman’s pastored a church in Grand Junction, Colorado. During that time, Moreno held book signings at City Markets. She ended up selling over 1200 books in 7 months’ time and becoming the top salesman in the nation in the Authors in Grocery Stores program.
